What is an Unseen Book?
An Unseen Book is exactly what it sounds like: a mystery book chosen for you, wrapped so you don't know the title until you open it.
Think of it as a blind date with your next read.
You choose your box. We choose the book. You get to discover the rest.
How do you choose the mystery books?
We don't just grab a random book off the shelf.
Every Unseen Book is carefully selected using reader feedback and Goodreads ratings. We look for books with a 3.5+ Goodreads rating, more than 2,000 positive reviews, and fewer than 300 one-star reviews.
We want the mystery to be which book you'll receive — not whether you'll actually enjoy reading it.
What kind of books do you send?
For now, GreyDoor's Unseen Books focus on horror and thriller reads.
If you enjoy suspense, creepy stories, dark twists, and books that keep you turning pages, you're in the right place.
As GreyDoor grows, the selection may grow with it.
Can I choose the genre?
At this time, our Unseen Books are focused on horror and thriller books, so there isn't a genre selection at checkout.
That's part of the mystery!
Can I request a specific book?
The fun of an Unseen Book is not knowing which title you'll receive, so specific titles cannot be requested.
If you have a book you've already read or a particular preference you'd like us to know about, contact us before ordering and we'll do our best to help. Sending your GoodReads list or any list before hand will help.
What if I've already read the book?
We know it happens!
Because the whole point is to keep the title a surprise, we can't guarantee that you've never encountered the book before.
If you're concerned about receiving a duplicate of something you've already purchased from GreyDoor Goods, contact us before placing another order and we'll do our best to help.
Are the books new?
Yes! All books are new. There may be small shipping marks or bends but still brand new.
